What is Orajel Extra Strength Dental Gel?
Orajel Extra Strength Gel is a type of local anaesthetic designed to ease the pain of toothache. It numbs the area, easing pain quickly and effectively, with twice the strength of the regular Orajel gel. Perfect for those who are suffering from a more painful toothache.
Who is Orajel Extra Strength suitable for?
It is suitable to be used by adults and children aged 12 and over who are suffering from toothache. If you have a broken tooth or need a filling and can’t get to your dentist straight away, Orajel Extra Strength can help to ease your pain until you can make an appointment.
What causes toothache?
There are lots of reasons why you may be suffering from toothache, and many people suffer with it at one point or another. Your dentist will be able to tell you the exact cause of your toothache, but some of the most common causes include:
- Infections
- A loose or broken filling
- Tooth decay
- A broken or chipped tooth
- Dental abscesses
- Poorly fitting braces
How will this gel ease my toothache?
Orajel Extra Strength contains 20% w/w of the active ingredient Benzocaine, which is a local anaesthetic. This means it numbs the area where you apply it, easing your pain right away. It can be applied straight into the tooth cavity, to reduce pain right at the source until you can see your dentist.
