• What is the difference between a standard and a digital test?
  Traditional pregnancy tests have two lines, one line meaning you are not pregnant, and two lines indicating that you are pregnant.  
  However these tests can sometimes provide false results if left for too long or too short time before results being read.  
  Digital pregnancy tests are available which tell you in words whether you are ‘Pregnant’ or ‘Not Pregnant’.
• How does a pregnancy test work?
  When a fertilised egg implants in the wall of the uterus, it secretes a hormone known as HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin).  Home pregnancy tests detect the presence of HCG in the urine by using monoclonal antibodies which react with the HCG and change colour.  HCG can be detected in a woman's blood and urine even before the first missed period. 
• When is the best time to take a pregnancy test?
  Most pregnancy tests are over 99% accurate if used from the day your period is due, however the tests can also be performed up to 4 days prior to your period starting.   It is best to do a pregnancy test in the morning as the HCG in the urine will be more concentrated. 
• What tests are available?

  Most pregnancy tests are 99% accurate if used from the day your period is due.
• What are the symptoms of being pregnant?
  Some signs and symptoms to look for if you believe you might be pregnant include
  - missed period
  - nausea with or without vomiting
  - tiredness
  - dizziness
  - breast changes and breast tenderness
  - frequent urination
